A 21 foot long giant crocodile that has been suspected of attacking several people in the Philippines has been caught.
Weighing in at a whopping 600kg the crocodile was captured in a creek in the province of Agusan del Sur. The Crocodile was captured weeks after wildlife and fisheries officers set up traps to catch the animal.
Residents in the area believe the large crocodile may be responsible for the disappearance of a young girl in 2010, while various other attacks are believed to be the product of the creature.
According to Ronald Nuer, project director of the Bunawan Municipal Council, it took wildlife officials 21 days to catch the male crocodile.
After being caught the large croc managed to break free from restraints twice and became very aggressive on several occasions.
The crocodile will be relocated to a planned ecotourism park where it will live out the rest of its days in peace.
