Ohio State Receiver Makes Amazing One-Handed Catch (VIDEO)

It's no secret that the Ohio State University has recently made some significant changes atop the coaching staff of its football team. Former coach Jim Tressel, who had directed the squad from within various sweater vests since 2000, is out. His replacement is Luke Fickell. Although Fickell had been a member of the Buckeyes' staff for years and undoubtedly has a terrific grasp for the game, it seems that a key piece of coaching advice may not have been imparted to one of his freshman receivers.

Watching this highlight-reel play by Ohio State's freshman wideout Evan Spencer, one might wonder if he knew that NCAA rules permit players to use two hands to catch passes. The aforementioned rules may not allow a player to trade autographs for tattoos, but two-handed catches are totally on the up and up.

In the fourth quarter of the Buckeyes' shutout victory over Akron, quarterback Braxton Miller slung a pass to Spencer who was sprinting down the right sideline. Just inside the 10-yard line, the Vernon Hills (Ill.) native separated himself from the defender and had his back to the end zone. Caught in an awkward position, Spencer jumped off his right foot and made an incredible one-handed 33-yard catch. Even after he got his right hand on the ball, he didn't bring his left paw over to wrap it up as he went to the ground.
