WATCH: Gaddafi's Secret Bunkers Revealed Video

Libyan rebels who have seized Muammar Gaddafi's sprawling Bab al-Aziziya compound have already made several questionable discoveries -- among them a photo album dedicated to former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Now the group has begun descending into a labyrinth of secret tunnels that lie beneath the compound, revealing even more about the Libyan leader's eccentricities.

The bunkers, said to stretch for miles beyond the compound's confines under the Libyan capital, were discovered after fierce fighting with pro-Gaddafi forces. As Bloomberg is reporting, the air-conditioned passages were fortified in an effort to protect Gaddafi in the aftermath of the 1986 U.S. bombing raid on Tripoli.

NPR quotes an Al Jazeera correspondent as saying that rebels found gas masks and food inside the tunnels, while other reports showed rooms filled with telephones, notebooks and computer servers. A Olympic size swimming pool is also reputedly part of the network.
